(LEBANON, Ill., March 22)- The McKendree University bass fishing team was recently added as a feature blog for Heartland Outdoors.

HeartlandOutdoors.com is a guide to fishing, hunting, boating and camping in Illinois and neighboring states. It is a production of Jeff Lampe, a 20-year veteran of the newspaper business, and Lampe Publications LLC, based out of Elmwood, Ill.

The McKendree Bass blog will feature regular updates as they travel and compete on the collegiate bass fshing tournament trail. The blog can be read at http://heartlandoutdoors.com/mckendree_bass.

The Bearcats will have a blog featured alongside Lampe himself, Nate Herman of Herman Brothers Lake and Land Management and the focus of the television show "Lake Life," on the DIY Network, and various other outdoor enthusiasts.

The McKendree bass fishing team is competing this weekend in Russellville, Ark., on Lake Dardanelle at the Dardanelle Derby. The tournament is part of the Cabela's BoatUS Collegiate Bass Fishing Series.
