(Indianapolis, Ind. November 5) – The McKendree University women's soccer team has been crowned the 2017 Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Tournament Champions for the second straight year after defeating the nationally ranked Quincy University Hawks 3-0 this afternoon.

Tim Strange on the victory, "I think we're a big time team that likes to play in big time games, and we showed it today. Looking forward to get back to the national tournament and make some noise."
Heading into the match the Hawks were ranked fifth in the latest national poll and second in the NCAA Midwest Regional Ranking.
McKendree opened up scoring in the 23 minute of play when Jane Skaggs ripped a shot from well outside the box that found the upper 90.
Alynnah O'Leary increased the lead to 2-0 as she cleaned up a rebound off a Chelsea Whittaker strike.
Sydnee Carroll joined the Bearcat scoring party in the 82 minute as she beat a Quincy defender and then goaltender to cap the victory at 3-0.
In net for McKendree was Zoe Brochu who totaled 10 saves collecting her 11 shutout of the 2017 campaign.
McKendree advances to the NCAA Tournament with the automatic qualifier of GLVC. The NCAA Selection Show is scheduled to air on Monday at 5 p.m. on NCAA.com
