IRVINE, Calif. – The Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC) announced on Tuesday, January 7th, that men's water polo center Yannick Robertson (St. Augustine, Trinidad and Tobago) has made honorable mention for All-American at the Division II level.
The two-time offensive Western Water Polo Association (WWPA) Player of the Week has had one of the most dominant seasons for an individual in program history. He played in all 20 official contests this year and recorded 58 goals on 127 shot attempts (45.7%) as he passed the 100-career goal plateau in this year's WWPA Championship tournament.
Yet, Robertson's dominance did not all come solely from putting the ball into the cage, as he finished the 2024 season with nine assists, 41 drawn exclusions, 25 steals, and four field blocks. Furthermore, his consistency was unmatched, recording a hat-trick in 11 of the 20 matches and scoring at least one goal in all but one game. Robertson's 2.9 goals per game ranked fifth in the entire conference.
With only two years in the books, the St. Augustine, Trinidad and Tobago native currently has 101 goals, 24 assists, 86 drawn exclusions, 56 steals, and six field blocks with plenty of more water polo to play.
