Jeff C. Lanter
Athlete
Class of 1985
Basketball
Jeff Lanter was a four year letter winner from McKendree College from 1980-1983. During that period the men’s basketball team won 87 and lost 37 games. Jeff was one of the Bearcats’ hardest workers and most unselfish players. He was tenacious on defense and an extremely intense competitor.
Jeff personifies McKendree’s present style of play. He was frequently the player who made the big play – either a basket, rebound, or steal. Jeff’s leadership and strong work ethic were invaluable to the success of the men’s basketball program. He served as a role model for our younger players on the team his scoring ability improved every year and he became a steady scorer and outside threat. He was awarded the Nate Clay award his senior year.
Jeff’s strong work ethic on the court has served him well in his career after McKendree College. He is the President of Lanter Logistics, a family-owned business started by his father. He continues to participate in the basketball leagues of the Missouri Athletic Club, and coaches his son, Patrick, in the AAU Jets basketball team.
