(LEBANON, Ill., June 1)— Eugene Omalla (Tororo, Uganda)
completed his 2021 season on a strong note with a first-team All-America finish Saturday at the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championships. The three-day event was held on the campus of Grand Valley State University at the Kelly Family Sports Center in Allendale, M.I.
The McKendree men's track and field sophomore standout turned in a second-place finish in Saturday's finals. Omalla posted a time of 46.71 in the 400m, which is earned him a PR and school record.
"I am so proud of Eugene for trusting the training process and putting in a lot of hard work at practice day in and day out" said Coach
Agne Eggerth. "He is an outstanding student-athlete and an even better person."
