(Indianapolis, Ind. November 3) – The McKendree University women's soccer team advanced to the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Championship game for second straight year as they defeated Maryville 1-0 this evening.
In the contest McKendree controlled the first half as they outshot Maryville 7-3. Both teams played even in the second each adding six shots.
In the 83 minute of play, Alynnah O'Leary stripped a Maryville defender and then fired a shot past the Saints goalkeeper to give McKendree the 1-0 advantage.
The Bearcats would secure the victory as the Saints did not post a shot in the remainder of the contest.
In net for McKendree was Zoe Brochu who collected four saves and her 10 shutout of the 2017 campaign.
McKendree who moves to 14-2-3 with the victory will face Quincy University for the GLVC Championship on Sunday at Noon ET at Carroll Stadium in Indianapolis.
