Shelby Woelful has earned the Mama Gusto's Female Athlete of the Week award for Dec. 6. Woelful (Jerseyville, Ill./Jerseyville), a sophomore forward for the McKendree women's basketball program, enjoyed a big week as the Bearcats won two of three contests. Woelful averaged 15.3 points and 8.3 rebounds in the three games, shooting 54.1 percent from the field in the process. She poured in a career-best 36 points with 11 rebounds in McKendree's 99-96 home victory over Olivet Nazarene University on Nov. 30. For her efforts, Woelful was honored as the American Midwest Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week.
