(WALNUT RIDGE, Ark., Oct. 15)—The McKendree College men's soccer team snapped their two-game losing streak with a 10-1 win over Williams Baptist College on Saturday.
After dropping back-to-back 2-1 double overtime games the Bearcats exploded for a season-high 10 goals against American Midwest Conference foe Williams Baptist College.
McKendree sophomore forward
Santiago Duran (Montevideo, Uraguay/) scored the first of his four goals on the day just three-minutes into the game to give McKendree the quick 1-0 lead.
Nicolas Mosca (Buenos Aires, Argentina/San Luis Gonzaga) added an assist on the goal.
The Bearcats added another goal when
Jay Stremlau (St. Louis, Missouri/St. Mary's) scored on a penalty kick just minutes later. Duran netted his second goal at the 16-minute mark on a pass from
Gareth Batchelor (Southampton, Hampshire/Tauntons). Duran picked up the hat-trick with his third goal just one-minute later after receiving a pass from
Tim Dew (Winchester, Hampshire/Peter Symonds).
Bearcats
Ryan Miller (Sycamore, Illinois/Sycamore) and
Scott Horton (Sycamore, Illinois/Sycamore) each picked up a goal to finish out the first-half scoring and give McKendree a 6-0 lead at half-time. Corey Adams and
Matt Gruenert (Bellevillle, Illinois/Belleville East) picked up assists.
Higor Alencar (Sao Luis, Brazil/Harper Creek) started the scoring for the Bearcats in the second-half with a goal at the 52-minute mark.
Ryan Miller (Sycamore, Illinois/Sycamore) netted his second goal of the game just three-minutes later.
Cory Adams (O'Fallon, Illinois/O'Fallon) scored at the 77-minute mark while Duran added his fourth goal at the 82-minute mark to give the Bearcats a 10-0 lead.

McKendree is now 9-5-2 overall and 4-2-1 in the AMC. McKendree will be in action again Oct. 23 at home against Benedictine College. Game time is set for 3 p.m.
