John Brown quickly answered back tying the game at 1-1 when Nikki Ganter scored just four minutes later. John Brown grabbed a 2-1 lead when Crystal Perez scored off a corner kick at the 51-minute mark.

The Bearcats scored the tying goal when Meghan Rooney (St. Charles, Mo./Francis Howell North) (St. Charles, Mo./Francis Howell North) sent a head ball into the net off a corner kick by teammate Katelyn Cleveland (Collinsville, Ill./Collinsville) (Collinsville, Ill./Collinsville).

The game remained tied throughout regulation and through two overtime periods with the Bearcats unable to convert on numerous scoring opportunities. The Bearcats outshot John Brown 17-11 in the game and Bearcat goalkeeper Natalie Jameson (Troy, Ill./Triad) (Troy, Ill./Triad) made nine saves in the game.

McKendree is now 1-0-1 on the season and will be in action again Saturday against St. Francis University (Ind.). Game time is set for 5 p.m.
