(LEBANON, Ill., Oct. 18)—The McKendree College men’s soccer team scored two goals in the final 17 minutes to rally for a 2-1 non-conference victory Wednesday night at the University of Missouri-St. Louis.
Senior forward
Nicolas Mosca (Buenos Aires, Argentina/San Luis Gonzaga) (Buenos Aires, Argentina) scored the game-winner with just over a minute to play to lift the Bearcats to victory. McKendree won for the first time in three matches to improve to 9-4-2 on the year. The Bearcats will be at Hannibal-LaGrange College Saturday for an American Midwest Conference game beginning at 3 p.m.
Following a scoreless first half, Missouri-St. Louis (9-6-2) took a 1-0 lead on a goal in the 70
th minute of play. McKendree tied the game just four minutes later when junior forward
Cole Harres (Belleville, Illinois/Belleville West) (Belleville, Ill./Belleville West) scored from five yards out. It was Harres’ fourth goal of the season.
Mosca’s winning goal came on a pass through the goal mouth from junior forward
Jarius Holmes (O' Fallon, Ill./O' Fallon) (O’Fallon, Ill./O’Fallon). Mosca picked up his eighth goal of the season with Holmes adding his fourth assist.
Junior
Scott Genz (St. Charles, Mo./St. Charles) (St. Charles, Mo./St. Charles) made two saves to earn the victory in goal for McKendree.
