(LEBANON, Ill., Oct. 27)—The McKendree College men’s soccer team posted a crucial 4-2 victory Thursday at Harris-Stowe State University in American Midwest Conference play.

 

Freshman defender Sean Mueller (Ellisville, Mo./Lafayette) scored his first two goals of the season in leading the Bearcats to the win. McKendree closed out its regular-season schedule with an overall record of 10-6-2. The Bearcats finished AMC play with a 4-2-1 mark, and Thursday’s win put McKendree in position to host an AMC play-in game Thursday. Tournament pairings will be announced Wednesday.

 

Sophomore midfielder Joey Lofink (Granite City, Illinois/Granite City) (Granite City, Ill./Granite City) and senior defender Dan Bleisch (Belleville, Ill./Belleville East) (Belleville, Ill./Belleville East) each chipped in with a goal for the Bearcats. Senior Brad Dietrich (Belleville, Illinois/Belleville West) (Belleville, Ill./Belleville West) turned away three Harris-Stowe shots to pick up the shutout victory.
