Nick Dreyer (Waterloo, Ill./Waterloo) (Waterloo, Ill./Waterloo) pumped in four goals and added an assist in leading the McKendree College hockey team to a 7-5 victory Friday night at home against Eastern Illinois University. The contest was played at the U.S. Ice Sports Complex in Fairview Heights.
The Bearcats won their third consecutive match to improve to 5-3 on the year. McKendree and Eastern Illinois will complete their two-game weekend series Saturday at 3 p.m. in Fairview Heights.

Kyle Ilges (Highland, Ill./Highland) (Highland, Ill./Highland) added three assists for McKendree, while sophomore center
Charlie Donze (Fairview Heights, Ill./Althoff Catholic) (Fairview Heights, Ill./Althoff Catholic) and sophomore wing
Zach Crawford (Springfield, Ill./Pleasant Plains) (Springfield, Ill./Pleasant Plains) each posted two assists in the victory.
The contest was tied 1-1 after the first period before McKendree edged out to a 5-4 lead heading into the second intermission. Dreyer tallied his final goal of the night in the early stages of the third period, and junior center
Scott Roberts (Philadelphia, Pa./Bensalem) (Philadelphia, Pa./Bensalem) followed with a power-play goal midway through the stanza to help put the game out of reach for the Bearcats.
