(LEBANON, Ill., Nov. 9)—The McKendree College volleyball team was swept Thursday on the road by Missouri Baptist University in the semifinal round of the American Midwest Conference Tournament. The Spartans took the best-of-five match by scores of 30-22, 30-21 and 30-24. 
 
The loss sends the Bearcats to 26-16 on the year. McKendree will have to wait until Sunday night to see if they will receive an at-large bid to next week’s NAIA Region V Tournament. The eight-team regional field will be announced Sunday evening.
 
At Missouri Baptist, senior outside hitter 
Codi Dempster (Poplar Bluff, Mo./Twin Rivers) (Poplar Bluff, Mo./Twin Rivers) led McKendree with nine kills, while sophomore middle hitter 
Katelyn Kombrink (O'Fallon, Ill./O'Fallon) (O’Fallon, Ill./O’Fallon) was right behind with eight attacks. Senior libero 
Marcy Gibson (Carbondale, Ill./Salem) (Salem, Ill./Salem) had nine digs, and junior setter 
Allison DeGroot (Highland, Ill./Highland) (Highland, Ill./Highland) handed out a team-best 26 assists.
