(ST. CHARLES, Mo., Nov. 7)—The McKendree College women’s basketball team pushed its record to 2-0 on the season with a 66-54 victory Tuesday in non-conference play at Lindenwood University.

 

Junior forward Heather Elders (Energy, Ill./Herrin) (Energy, Ill./Herrin) scored a team-high 19 points as the Bearcats broke open a 27-24 halftime deficit for their first road win of 2006-07. Senior forward Emily Hart (Columbia, Ill./Columbia) (Columbia, Ill./Columbia) added 12 points and six rebounds, while sophomore forward Emily Best (Wood River, Ill./East Alton-Wood River) (Worden, Ill./East Alton-Wood River) came off the bench to post 10 points and four rebounds. Junior forward Suzy Gerler (Florissant, Mo./Hazelwood Central) (Florissant, Mo./Hazelwood Central) led the team with eight rebounds.

 

McKendree will have a week off before returning to the court Nov. 14 at home against Illinois Institute of Technology. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.
