(Evansville, Ind., Sept. 15)-- The McKendree College women's soccer team allowed two goals in the final 11 minutes of the game, dropping a road game to the University of Southern Indiana. The Eagles were led by Julie Collins who scored the game-winning goal and assisted on the second.
McKendree outshot the Eagles 14-8 in the game, including 7-3 in the first half but were unable to put the ball into the net. Collins broke a scoreless game at the 80-minute mark when she lifted a shot from 30-yards out over the Bearcat keeper.
Collins added an assist on a late goal when Jessica Stawick scored with just 15 seconds remaining in the game.
McKendree keeper Jill Wolfmeier (Millstadt, Ill./Belleville West) (Belleville, Ill./Belleville West) made three saves in picking up the loss. McKendree, ranked No. 18 in the NAIA, is currently 3-3 overall this season and will be in action again Wednesday, September 20th when they host Westminster College. Game time is set for 1 p.m.
