(LEBANON, Ill., Sept. 18)—Junior center Scott Roberts (Philadelphia, Pa./Bensalem) (Philadelphia, Pa.) collected three goals and added two assists in leading the McKendree College hockey team to its first win of the season, an 8-5 triumph Friday night at Bradley University.

 

The Bearcats netted six goals in the second period to break open a close game and pull away for the win. McKendree, now 1-1 on the season, will face Bradley again Saturday evening at 8:45 p.m. in the finale of a two-game series.

 

Sophomore defenseman Chris Donahue (Levittown, Pa./Truman) (Levittown, Pa.) added a goal and three assists for McKendree. Sophomore center/wing Nick Dreyer (Waterloo, Ill./Waterloo) (Waterloo, Ill.) chipped in with a goal and an assist for the Bearcats. Junior Ryan Ahlemeyer (Cahokia, Ill./Cahokia) (Cahokia, Ill.) earned the victory in goal for McKendree.

 

Also scoring for the Bearcats were junior defenseman Shawn McBride (Waterloo, Ill./Waterloo) (Waterloo, Ill.), sophomore wing Z.T. Evans (Columbia, Ill.) and freshman defenseman Brooks Boeschen (Belleville, Ill./Belleville East) (Belleville, Ill.).
