Game Boxscore (LEBANON, Ill., Sept. 2)—The McKendree College women’s soccer team edged out William Jewell College 2-1 in double overtime to improve to 2-0 on the season. McKendree, the No. 13 ranked team, controlled much of the action over the No. 19 ranked Cardinals.
Despite out-shooting William Jewell 25-7, McKendree was unable to take advantage of their scoring chances for the second straight game. The game remained scoreless until the 70-minute of the game when
Katie Hubbard (Granite City, Ill./Granite City) (Granite City, Ill./Granite City) gave the Bearcats the lead.
Hubbard knocked down a clearing pass and lifted a shot over the Cardinal goalkeeper for her first goal of the season.
William Jewell tied the game up with just seven-minutes left in the game when Nicole Revenaugh sent a head ball into the back of the net on a cross by teammate Theresa Noll.
Both teams played a scoreless first overtime before the Bearcats were able to score the game-winning goal early in the second overtime frame. Bearcat
Jenna Shellenberg (Troy, Ill./Triad) (Troy, Ill./Triad) was fed a pass in the box by teammate
Ray Ray Cole (Raytown, Mo./St. Teresa's) (Raytown, Mo./St. Teresa’s) and Shellenberg finished to give the Bearcats the win.

Natalie Jameson (Troy, Ill./Triad) (Troy, Ill./Triad) made two saves in picking up her 43
rd career win and setting a new school record.
McKendree will be in action again next Friday, September 8 at home against Oklahoma Christian University. Game time is set for 2 p.m.
