(Canton, Mo., Sept. 25)-- Ray Ray Cole (Raytown, Mo./St. Teresa's) (Raytown, Mo./St. Teresa's) helped the McKendree College women's soccer team to a 3-1 win over Culver-Stockton College on the road Monday. Cole scored two goals, including the game-winning goal as McKendree won their fourth consecutive game.
Culver-Stockton grabbed the early lead with a goal just seven-minutes into the game. McKendree tied the game when forward Jenna Shellenberg (Troy, Ill./Triad) (Troy, Ill./Triad) scored at the 20-minute mark. Katie Hubbard (Granite City, Ill./Granite City) (Granite City, Ill./Granite City) assisted on the goal.
The Bearcats grabbed the lead when Cole scored at the 51-minute mark on an assist from Kelsey Johnson (Granite City, Ill./Granite City) (Granite City, Ill./Granite City). Cole added an insurance goal late in the game, scoring with just two-minutes remaining with Brittany Fuzessery (Granite City, Ill./Granite City) (Granite City, Ill./Granite City) assisting on the goal.
McKendree keeper Natalie Jameson (Troy, Ill./Triad) (Troy, Ill./Triad) made one save in recording the win. McKendree improves to 7-3 overall and will be in action again October 6 at home when they face Missouri Valley College. Game time is set for noon.
