(LEBANON, Ill., Sept. 28)—Illinois State University scored the final five goals of the game to pull away for a 7-3 win Saturday over McKendree College at the U.S. Ice Sports Complex in Fairview Heights.
The loss gives the Icebirds a weekend split against McKendree, which posted an 8-7 win Friday night. The Bearcats are now 2-3 on the year and will continue their homestand Friday at 8:30 p.m. against Northwestern University. The match will be held in Fairview Heights.

Nick Dreyer (Waterloo, Ill./Waterloo) (Waterloo, Ill./Waterloo) and senior defenseman
Brent Grimm (O'Fallon, Ill./O'Fallon) (O’Fallon, Ill./O’Fallon) each scored a goal for McKendree. Grimm also posted an assist in the game. Dreyer’s goal with just under six minutes left in the first period gave the Bearcats a 3-2 lead. However, the Icebirds tied the game late in the period, then scored twice in the second and third periods to pull away for the win.
Freshman
Anthony Millatti (Columbia, Ill./Columbia) (Columbia, Ill./Columbia) drew the start in goal and was charged with the loss. McKendree goalies faced 43 shots in the match.
