(ST. LOUIS, Mo., Sept. 6)—The McKendree College volleyball team was swept in its 2006 season opener Wednesday at Webster University. The Bearcats were defeated by scores of 30-25, 30-23 and 30-21.

Katelyn Kombrink (O'Fallon, Ill./O'Fallon) (O’Fallon, Ill./O’Fallon) posted five blocks.
McKendree, now 0-1 on the year, will head to Baldwin City, Kan., this weekend for the Baker University Invitational. Round robin play in the six-team event begins on Friday. Webster improves to 2-0 on the season.
