(LEBANON, Ill. – Oct. 4) – The McKendree Bearcats used goals from seven different players to get their tenth win of the season 8-0 over Greenville College Thursday night. McKendree out shot the Panthers 33-5 and had 20 shots on goal in the win.

 

McKendree travels to Central Methodist University Saturday night at 8 p.m.

 

Senior back/midfielder Gareth Batchelor (Southampton, Hampshire/Tauntons) (Southampton, England) opened up the scoring for the Bearcats four minutes into the game off an assist by senior midfielder Tim Dew (Winchester, Hampshire/Peter Symonds) (Winchester, England). Freshman forward Max Stainmez (Holland, Ontario, Canada/Denison) (Holland, Ontario, Canada) scored his first goal of the game one minute later to give the Bearcats a 2-0 lead. The Bearcats scored two more first half goals, one by junior forward Eric Frierdich (Columbia, Ill./Columbia) (Columbia, Ill./Columbia) and another by junior midfielder Joey Lofink (Granite City, Ill./Granite City) (Granite City, Ill./Granite City) to make the score 4-0 heading into the half. The Bearcats first two goals of the second half came 41-seconds apart. Stainmez scored off an assist from senior forward Cole Harres (Belleville, Illinois/Belleville West) (Belleville, Ill./Belleville West) and Harres scored one himself to give the Bearcats a 6-0 lead. Freshman forward Bill Puckett (Southampton. England/Tauntons) (Southampton, England) found the net off an assist by senior midfielder Dan Bleisch (Belleville, Ill./Belleville East) (Belleville, Ill./Bellville East). Senior midfielder Bobby Barger (Troy, Illinois/Triad) (Troy, Ill./Triad) closed out the scoring in the 83^rd minute to get the 8-0 win.

 

Senior goalkeeper Brad Dietrich (Belleville, Illinois/Belleville West) (Belleville, Ill./Belleville West) played all 69 minutes in goal and got the shutout win. Senior Scott Genz (St. Charles, Mo./St. Charles) (St. Charles, Mo./St. Charles) played 21 minutes in goal and had one save.
