(LEBANON, Ill. – Nov. 19) – The McKendree women’s basketball team improved to 3-4 on the season after a 70-57 win over University of Missouri-St. Louis Monday night. Four players scored in double-figures in the win.

 

Senior Suzy Gerler (Florissant, Mo./Hazelwood Central) (Florissant, Mo./Hazelwood Central) led all players with 15 points and also pulled down four rebounds. Sophomore Emily Best (Wood River, Ill./East Alton-Wood River) (Wood River, Ill./East Alton-Wood River), freshman Ashley Agee (Moberly, Mo./Moberly) (Moberly, Mo./Moberly) and senior Heather Elders (Energy, Ill./Herrin) (Energy, Ill./Herrin) scored 14, 13, and 11 points respectively.

 

Both teams battled back and forth early in the game until the Bearcats steadily pulled away with seven minutes remaining in the first half and headed into the half leading 31-23. The Tritons came within two with 16:34 remaining in the second half, but that would be the closest they came and the Bearcats came away with a 70-57 win.

 

The Bearcats will look to back to .500 when they travel to Columbia, Ky. Friday for a non-conference game against Lindsey Wilson College at 7:30 p.m.
