(LEBANON, Ill., Nov. 5)—The McKendree University hockey team scored six unanswered goals on its way to a 7-3 road victory Friday against Northern Illinois University.
The Bearcats trailed 3-1 early in the second period before taking control over the final half of the contest. McKendree moves to 7-4 overall and will play Northern Illinois again on Saturday.

Scott Roberts (Philadelphia, Pa./Bensalem) (Philadelphia, Pa./Bensalem) scored two goals and two assists, while senior wing
Kyle Ilges (Highland, Ill./Highland) (Highland, Ill./Highland) notched a goal and three assists to lead the way for McKendree. Senior wing
Nick Dreyer (Waterloo, Ill./Waterloo) (Waterloo, Ill./Waterloo) also scored twice for the Bearcats as junior center
Charlie Donze (Fairview Heights, Ill./Althoff Catholic) (Fairview Heights, Ill./Althoff Catholic) handed out a pair of assists.
Roberts scored both his goals in the final 10 minutes of the second period as McKendree knotted the score at 3-3. The Bearcats then seized control of the contest by scoring four times in the third period. Senior wing Ryan Haeffle (Columbia, Ill./Columbia) started the outburst by scoring the eventual game-winning goal just under four minutes into the period. Dreyer then sandwiched his goals around a power-play goal by junior wing
Chris Donahue (Levittown, Pa./Truman) (Levittown, Pa./Truman).
Junior Marc Power (O’Fallon, Ill./O’Fallon) collected 23 saves to grab the victory in goal for the Bearcats. Power stopped 27 of 28 shots over the final two periods.
