(LEBANON, Ill., Nov. 5)—The McKendree University hockey team dropped a 7-1 decision Saturday on the road to Northern Illinois University.

 

The Huskies scored the first four goals of the contest and never looked back as McKendree dropped to 7-5 overall in 2007-08. The Bearcats will continue their road swing Friday and Saturday with games against Northwestern University.

     

Senior forward Brian Neighbors (Belleville, Ill./Althoff Catholic) (Belleville, Ill./Althoff Catholic) scored the only goal of the game for McKendree. Neighbors’ even-strength goal came midway through the second period.

 

Sophomore Mike Stier (Belleville, Ill./Belleville West) (Belleville, Ill./Belleville West) was in goal for McKendree. Stier faced 61 shots in the contest and made 54 saves in being charged with the loss.
