(LEBANON, Ill. – Nov. 6) – The McKendree University men’s soccer team lost to Benedictine 2-0 Tuesday night in the semifinals of the NAIA Region V tournament. The loss ends the Bearcats unbeaten streak at 15 games.
The Bearcats, currently No. 15 in the NAIA, are now 16-2-1 overall. The Bearcats await word on a bid to the NAIA National Tournament, held Nov. 14-20 in Olathe, Kan.
The first half only saw five combined shots from both teams, but despite out shooting Benedictine 12-7 in the second half, the Bearcats couldn’t get it past Ravens keeper Roberto Galvan. David Seefeldt scored Benedictine’s first goal and assisted on their second, scored by Sean Lewis.
