(LEBANON, Ill., Feb. 22)—The McKendree College women’s basketball team was defeated in non-conference play Thursday night at Brescia University, 60-51.
The Bearcats shot just 29.9 percent in the contest as their seven-game win streak came to an end. McKendree, ranked No. 24 in NAIA Division I, moves to 19-10 overall. The Bearcats will close out the 2006-07 regular season Saturday with an American Midwest Conference game at Hannibal-LaGrange College. Tip-off is set for 2 p.m.

Katie Hasheider (Okawville, Ill./Okawville) (Okawville, Ill./Okawville) chipped in with 10 points and a team-leading five assists, while sophomore forward
Emily Best (Wood River, Ill./East Alton-Wood River) (Wood River, Ill./East Alton-Wood River) added seven rebounds to lead the Bearcats.
McKendree made just 7-of-29 field goal attempts (24.1 percent) in the first half as Brescia built a 25-19 halftime advantage. Brescia then held off the Bearcats over the final 20 minutes for the win.
Jennifer Patrick led Brescia (16-13) with a game-high 19 points and 10 rebounds, while Danielle Jenkins contributed 17 points for the hosts.
