(LEBANON, Ill., March 19)—The McKendree College men’s tennis team edged Missouri Valley College on Sunday at the McKendree tennis courts, 5-4.

 

The Bearcats used just four players in the match and pulled out the win by taking all four singles contests that were played along with a key win at No. 2 doubles. Senior Daniel Quinn (Melbourne, Australia/Lewis and Clark CC) (Melbourne, Australia) and junior Ben Schloesser (Belleville, IL/Belleville East) (Belleville, Ill./Belleville East) battled to an 8-6 win at No. 2 doubles that proved to be the decisive contest.

 

McKendree is now 2-1 on the season. The Bearcats will be on the road March 26 to face the University of Illinois at Springfield. The match will begin at 3 p.m.

Missouri Valley won No. 3 doubles match by forfeit
