BEARCATS PLAY QUINCY TO SCORELESS TIE AFTER TWO OVERTIMES

Liz Yanko had seven saves in the tie
(LEBANON, Ill., Sept. 12) – The No. 9 McKendree University women’s soccer team and Quincy University played 110 minutes of soccer Wednesday night, but neither team could score as the game ended in a 0-0 double overtime tie.
 
Both teams combined for 28 shots and 18 shots on goal, but defense prevailed. Freshman goalkeeper Liz Yanko (St. Louis, Mo./Rosati-Kain) (St. Louis, Mo./Rosati-Kain) played all 110 minutes in goal for the Bearcats and had seven saves. Freshman midfielder Ilana Milkez (Bogota, Colombia/Lycee Francais) (Bogota, Colombia) and junior forward Jenni Schoon (Morton, Ill./Morton) (Morton, Ill./Morton) both had five shots and three shots on goal.
 
The Bearcats travel to Kansas City, Mo. Saturday to play Ottawa University at 11 a.m.
