(LEBANON, Ill., Sept. 21) – The McKendree University women’s soccer team failed to find a rhythm at Leemon Field Friday afternoon losing to No. 12 Bethel College, 4-1.

 

The Bearcats, now 4-2-1 on the season, return to Leemon Field Sunday to play Culver-Stockton College at 1 p.m.

The Bearcats found themselves down 1-0 seven minutes into the game, but tied the game on a goal by senior midfielder Ashlee Ritchie (Granite City, Ill./Granite City) (Granite City, Ill./Granite City) in the 31^st minute. The Bethel Lady Wildcats scored one more in the first half and would score two more times in the second half for the 4-1 win.

 

Freshman goalkeeper Liz Yanko (St. Louis, Mo./Rosati-Kain) (St. Louis, Mo./Rosati-Kain) played 45 minutes in goal and had six saves, while junior Amanda LaGrow (Morton, Ill./Morton) (Morton, Ill./Morton) also played 45 minutes and recorded three saves.
