BEARCATS DEFEAT CULVER-STOCKTON 4-1 FOR WOMEN’S SOCCER WIN
(LEBANON, Ill., Sept. 23) – The McKendree University women’s soccer team got back on the right track Sunday afternoon scoring three first half goals on their way to a 4-1 win.
The Bearcats, now 5-2-1 on the season, return to Leemon Field Sunday to play Harris-Stowe State University at 5 p.m.
The Bearcats wasted no time offensively, with senior midfielder Lucy Elliot (Southampton, England) found the back of the net in the fifth minute off an assist by freshman midfielder
Ilana Milkez (Bogota, Colombia/Lycee Francais) (Bogota, Colombia). Milkez scored next off an assist by freshman midfielder
Kyla Nighohossian (Granite City, Ill./Granite City) (Granite City, Ill./Granite City) to make the score 2-0. Sophomore back
Kelsey Johnson (Granite City, Ill./Granite City) (Granite City, Ill./Granite City) score unassisted to give the Bearcats a 3-0 lead heading into the half. Senior back
Brittany Fuzessery (Granite City, Ill./Granite City) (Granite City, Ill./Granite City) scored the Bearcats last goal with 30-seconds remaining to get the 4-1 win.
The Bearcats outshot Culver-Stockton 36-4 in the contest.
