(ST. LOUIS, Mo., Sept. 25)—The McKendree University volleyball team swept an American Midwest Conference match Tuesday at Harris-Stowe State University. The Bearcats took the best-of-five match by scores of 30-22, 30-17 and 30-19.

 

The sweep gives McKendree an overall record of 13-1. The Bearcats remain perfect in AMC play at 4-0. McKendree, which received votes in last week’s NAIA coaches’ poll, will host No. 10 Columbia College in a key AMC match Thursday at 7 p.m. The Cougars are 11-4 overall and are also undefeated in AMC action at 6-0.

 

At Harris-Stowe, junior middle hitter Katelyn Kombrink (O'Fallon, Ill./O'Fallon) (O’Fallon, Ill./O’Fallon) led the way for McKendree with 14 kills and three blocks. Sophomore outside hitter Brittany Schrage (Aviston, Ill./Breese Central) (Aviston, Ill./Breese Central) added a season-high 11 kills, while junior setter Dana Maedge (Highland, Ill./Highland) (Highland, Ill./Highland) posted a team-best 21 assists and two service aces.

 

Senior libero Courtney Aldridge (Dupo, Ill./Dupo) (Dupo, Ill./Dupo) chipped in with 24 digs, and senior middle hitter Angie Clark (Charleston, Mo./Charleston) (Charleston, Mo./Charleston) matched Kombrink with three blocks.
