(LEBANON, Ill., Sept. 28)—The McKendree University volleyball team got back on the winning track Friday with an American Midwest Conference victory at home against William Woods University. The Bearcats took the match by scores of 30-24, 30-21 and 30-18.
Senior setter
Allison DeGroot (Highland, Ill./Highland) (Highland, Ill./Highland) became just the fifth player in McKendree program history to reach the 2,000-assist mark in a career. She had a match-high 20 assists against William Woods to raise her career total to 2,014. DeGroot also added three kills, 15 digs and a team-best six solo blocks in the victory.
McKendree improves to 14-2 overall and 5-1 in AMC play, while William Woods drops to 4-9 on the year and 2-4 in the AMC. The Bearcats will be on the road Saturday for a non-conference match against Greenville College.

Katelyn Kombrink (O'Fallon, Ill./O'Fallon) (O’Fallon, Ill./O’Fallon) led the offensive surge for McKendree with 14 kills, while sophomore outside hitter
Lisa Witte (St. Charles, Mo./St. Charles) (St. Charles, Mo./St. Charles) was right behind with 12 attacks. Witte also posted 16 digs.

Dani Collins (Freeburg, Ill./Freeburg) (Freeburg, Ill./Freeburg) chipped in with nine kills, while senior libero
Courtney Aldridge (Dupo, Ill./Dupo) (Dupo, Ill./Dupo) posted a team-leading 21 digs.
Jessica Deetz led William Woods with seven kills, while Molly Dougherty handed out 12 assists.
