BEARCATS SHUTOUT HARRIS-STOWE 10-0, MOVE TO 1-0 IN AMC PLAY

Ansley scored two goals in the win
(LEBANON, Ill., Sept. 30) – The McKendree University women’s soccer team opened up American Midwest Conference play Sunday evening and shutout Harris-Stowe State University 10-0 for the win. The Bearcats have now gone 1,050 consecutive minutes in conference play without giving up a goal.
 
The Bearcats, now 1-0 in the American Midwest Conference and 6-2-1 overall on the season, return to Leemon Field Wednesday to host Missouri Baptist University at 6 p.m.

Freshman midfielder Megan Ansley (Troy, Ill./Triad) (Troy, Ill./Triad) led the team with two goals and senior midfielder Ashley Hayes (Godfrey, Ill./Alton Marquette) (Godfrey, Ill./Alton Marquette) recorded one goal and two assists in the win. Freshman midfielder Ilana Milkez (Bogota, Colombia/Lycee Francais) (Bogata, Colombia), senior forward Ashlee Ritchie (Granite City, Ill./Granite City) (Granite City, Ill./Granite City), senior midfielder Lucy Elliott (Southampton, England/Taunton's) (Southampton, England), sophomore midfielder Sarah Ryan (Rochester, Ill./Rochester) (Rochester, Ill./Rochester), junior forward Jenni Schoon (Morton, Ill./Morton) (Morton, Ill./Morton), senior back Nicole Chappell (Highland, Ill./Triad) (Highland, Ill./Triad), and freshman midfielder Samatha Hartman (Troy, Ill./Triad) also all score a goal in the win.
 
The Bearcats defense held Harris-Stowe to zero shots in the contest, and junior goalkeeper Amanda LaGrow (Morton, Ill./Morton) (Morton, Ill./Morton) played all 90 minutes for the shutout win.
