(SPRINGFIELD, Mo., Jan. 21)—The McKendree University hockey team saw its win streak snapped at nine games with a 7-6 loss Saturday at Missouri State University.
 
The host Bears scored four consecutive goals in the third period to seal the victory and gain a split of the weekend series with McKendree. The Bearcats had posted a 7-3 win on Friday. McKendree slips to 16-6 overall with the loss and will play host to the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Friday at 8 p.m. in Fairview Heights.
 
In Saturday’s contest, junior center 
Charlie Donze (Fairview Heights, Ill./Althoff Catholic) (Fairview Heights, Ill./Althoff Catholic) and senior wing 
Nick Dreyer (Waterloo, Ill./Waterloo) (Waterloo, Ill./Waterloo) each scored two goals to lead the Bearcats’ offensive attack. Senior center 
Scott Roberts (Philadelphia, Pa./Bensalem) (Philadelphia, Pa./Bensalem) and junior 
David Klueskens (Granite City, Ill./Granite City) (Granite City, Ill.) scored the other McKendree goals, while junior defenseman 
Chris Donahue (Levittown, Pa./Truman) (Levittown, Pa./Truman) and senior wing 
Kyle Ilges (Highland, Ill./Highland) (Highland, Ill./Highland) each chipped in with two assists.
 
 
Sophomore 
Mike Stier (Belleville, Ill./Belleville West) (Belleville, Ill./Belleville West) collected 34 saves in taking the loss in goal for McKendree. Stier drops to 7-5 on the season.
