(HANNIBAL, Mo. – Jan. 29) – The McKendree University women’s basketball team defeated Hannibal-LaGrange College Tuesday night 85-61 in an American Midwest Conference matchup.
McKendree improved to 14-8 overall and 6-1 in the AMC, while Hannibal-LaGrange fell to 1-21 overall and 0-7 in the AMC. The Bearcats travel to Fulton, Mo. Saturday to begin the second half of AMC-play at William Woods University. Tip-off is set for 2 p.m.

Ashley Agee (Moberly, Mo./Moberly) (Moberly, Mo./Moberly) had 14 points and five rebounds and junior forward
Emily Best (Wood River, Ill./East Alton-Wood River) (Wood River, Ill./East Alton-Wood River) rounded out the Bearcats double-digit scoring with 12 points and seven rebounds.
The Bearcats got out to a fast start and never looked back in the contest leading by a score of 47-34 after the first half of play. The Bearcats continued their effort in the second half to earn the win. Hannibal-LaGrange held a slight 41.4 percent to 41.3 percent advantage shooting from the field, but the Bearcats score 16 second-change points, compared to the Trojans four. The Bearcats also held a 44-28 advantage over the Trojans in rebounding.
