(Owensboro, Ky. – Jan. 3) – The McKendree University women’s basketball team fell to 6-7 on the season after a 66-54 loss at Brescia Thursday night.

Heather Elders (Energy, Ill./Herrin) (Energy, Ill./Herrin) led the Bearcats with 15 points in the loss. Junior forward
Emily Best (Wood River, Ill./East Alton-Wood River) (Wood River, Ill./East Alton-Wood River) scored 12 points and senior forward
Suzy Gerler (Florissant, Mo./Hazelwood Central) contributed 10 points.
McKendree came out slow in the first half and found themselves trailing 41-26 at half. The Bearcats outscored Brescia 28-25 in the second half, but it wouldn’t be enough to overcome the first-half deficit.
The Bearcats will stay on the road for their second game of the new year when they travel to Parkville, Mo. Saturday to play Park University at 2 p.m.
