(Lebanon, Ill., Oct. 14) – The No. 11 McKendree University men's soccer team snapped a two-game losing streak Tuesday with an American Midwest Conference win over Columbia College 2-0.
The Bearcats, 11-2-1 overall and 4-1 in the AMC, will travel to play Missouri Baptist University on October 23rd at Boone's Crossing in Chesterfield Valley, Mo. at 5 p.m.
McKendree struck first in the seventh minute on freshman midfielder Fraser Williams (Rhondda, England/) (Rhondda, England) seventh goal of the season. A free kick by Williams would be headed past the Cougar keeper in the 27th minute by sophomore midfielder Sam James (Southampton. England/Tauntons) (Southampton, England) to put the Bearcats up 2-0, where it remained.
Freshman goalkeeper Joe Sagar (Oldham, England/Hulme) (Oldham, England) improved to 11-2-1 on the season and tallied three saves. It was his fourth shutout of the season.
