(Lebanon, Ill., Oct. 28) – The No. 8 McKendree University men's soccer team fell to Lindenwood University Tuesday night 4-2. The Bearcats were outshot in the contest 22-11.
The Bearcats, 12-3-1 overall, hosts William Baptist College Thursday at 5:30 p.m. for their last regular season American Midwest Conference game of the season. A win would clinch their second straight AMC regular season championship.
Lindenwood's Ivan Mijatovic scored three goals in the victory. The Bearcats two goals were scored on an own goal by Lindenwood in the 24th minute and on a penalty kick by Ryan Miller (Sycamore, Illinois/Sycamore) (Sycamore, Ill./Sycamore) in the 39th minute. Fernando Herrero scored the other Lindenwood goal in the 32nd minutes.
McKendree freshman goalkeeper Joe Sagar (Oldham, England/Hulme) (Oldham, England) played 75:43 in goal and had six saves and four goals against in the loss. Junior Braden Posey (Bolingbrook, Ill./Naperville Central) (Bolingbrook, Ill./Naperville Central) played 14:17 and had no saves.
