(COLUMBIA, Mo., Oct. 27)—The McKendree University volleyball team was tripped up in American Midwest Conference play on Monday at Columbia College. The Cougars, ranked No. 6 in the latest NAIA poll, swept the best-of-five match by scores of 25-18, 25-13 and 25-16.
 
McKendree drops to 14-15 overall and 8-6 in American Midwest Conference play, while Columbia moves to 33-3 on the year and stays perfect in the AMC at 14-0. McKendree will be at Hannibal-LaGrange College on Thursday for an AMC match beginning at 7 p.m.
 
At Columbia, junior outside hitter Andrea Lucas (Festus, Mo./Festus) (Festus, Mo./Festus) led the way for McKendree with five kills, while senior middle hitter Katelyn Kombrink (O'Fallon, Ill./O'Fallon) (O'Fallon, Ill./O'Fallon) and freshman outside hitter Kaitlin Kollman (Collinsville, Ill./Metro-East Lutheran) each posted four attacks and three blocks. Senior setter Dana Maedge (Highland, Ill./Highland) (Highland, Ill./Highland) had six assists, and junior libero Lauren Sarver (Dunlap, Ill./Dunlap) (Dunlap, Ill./Dunlap) chipped in with a team-leading six digs.
