(Lebanon, Ill., Oct. 28) – The No. 17 McKendree University women's soccer team defeated No. 23 Lindenwood University, 1-0, Tuesday night in a hard fought contest.
McKendree, now 15-0-1 overall, will host Hannibal-LaGrange College Friday at 6 p.m. for their final regular season American Midwest Conference match.
After a scoreless first half, the Bearcats scored the only goal of the game in the 54th minute on a free kick by sophomore Ilana Milkez (Bogota, Colombia/Lycee Francais) (Bogota, Colombia). Sophomore goalkeeper Liz Yanko (St. Louis, Mo./Rosati-Kain) (St. Louis, Mo./Rosati-Kain) improved to 15-0-1 on the season after playing all 90 minutes in goal and pulling in eight saves. It was her fifth shutout of the season.
