(WHEATON, Ill., Oct. 3)—The McKendree University hockey team got back on the winning track Friday with a 9-2 victory on the road against Wheaton College.

Junior wing Zach Crawford (Springfield, Ill./Pleasant Plains) (Springfield, Ill./Pleasant Plains) and freshman defenseman Kyle Clark (Waterloo, IL/Waterloo) (Waterloo, Ill./Waterloo) each scored two goals, while junior center Charlie Donze (Fairview Heights, Ill./Althoff Catholic) (Fairview Heights, Ill./Althoff Catholic) and freshman Jordan Donze (Fairview Heights, Ill./Althoff Catholic) (Fairview Heights, Ill./Althoff Catholic) each posted a goal and two assists to push the Bearcats' record to 3-2 on the season.

McKendree jumped out to a 4-2 lead in the first period, thanks to a pair of goals by Clark. The Bearcats were then able to extend their margin with two goals in the second period and three more in the third. Meanwhile, McKendree's goaltending tandem of Dustin Schildknecht (O'Fallon, Ill./O'Fallon) (O'Fallon, Ill./O'Fallon) and John Moore (Waterloo, Ill./Waterloo) (Waterloo, Ill./Waterloo) shut down Wheaton. The duo combined to make 14 saves over the final two periods.

McKendree and Wheaton wrap up their weekend series on Saturday.
