(Lebanon, Ill., Nov. 10) – The McKendree women's soccer team defeated Hannibal-LaGrange College, 2-0, Monday night in the American Midwest Conference Tournament semifinals behind two goals from freshman midfielder Sulyn Keomanivane (Granite City, Ill./Granite City).
No. 16 and top-seeded McKendree, now 17-1-1 overall, will host No. 3 seed William Woods University Thursday night at 6 p.m. for the AMC tournament championship game.
Keomanivane (Granite City, Ill./Granite City) scored her first goal of the game in the 13th minute on an assist from sophomore midfielder Theresa Kaiser (St. Louis, Mo./Ursuline Academy) (St. Louis, Mo./Ursuline). She scored her second goal of the game in the 77th minute on an assist by junior forward Sarah Ryan (Rochester, Ill./Rochester) (Rochester, Ill./Rochester). Keomanivane is now tied for the team lead with 18 goals this season.
Sophomore Liz Yanko (St. Louis, Mo./Rosati-Kain) (St. Louis, Mo./Rosati-Kain) improved to 17-1-1 on the season and had two saves in the win.
