(Lebanon, Ill., Nov. 12)—The No. 3 McKendree University wrestling team improved to 2-0 on the season after a 46-0 win over Hannibal-LaGrange College Wednesday night.

The Bearcats head to Warrensburg, Mo., Sunday for the Central Missouri Open. Matches will begin at 10 a.m.

McKendree began the evening with a 24-0 lead courtesy of forfeit wins at 165, 174, 184 and 197 pounds. Sophomore Andrew Sanchez (Shiloh, Ill./) (Shiloh, Ill./O'Fallon) defeated Jeremy Woolfork in an 8-2 decision to give McKendree a 27-0 lead. Freshman Tyler Orr (Mattoon, Ill./) (Mattoon, Ill./Mattoon) followed that with a 9-7 decision win over Kayhan Karimi at 125 pounds. Freshman Kyle Williams (Mascoutah, Ill./) (Scott Air Force Base, Ill./Mascoutah) won a 9-6 decision over Kasey Cates and senior Jermaine Waye (Altama, Ga./) (Brunswick, Ga./Glynn Academy) pinned Matt Wright with 38-seconds remaining in the first period to put McKendree up 39-0 with two matches remaining. Sophomore Scott McQuiston (Mascoutah, Ill./) (Mascoutah, Ill./Mascoutah) defeated Tommy Pickens in a 8-6 decision and freshman Matt Beasley (Edwardsville, Ill./) (Edwardsville, Ill./Edwardsville) defeated Craig Fedynich in a major decision 16-7 to give the Bearcats the 46-0 win.
