(LEBANON, Ill., Nov. 15)—Junior center Charlie Donze (Fairview Heights, Ill./Althoff Catholic) (Fairview Heights, Ill./Althoff Catholic) scored two goals and added an assists to pace the McKendree University hockey team to a 6-2 win Saturday afternoon at home against Northwestern University.
 
Both of Donze's goals were specialty tallies for the Bearcats. His power-play goal in the second period gave McKendree a 3-0 lead, and his shorthanded goal with just 2:11 remaining sealed the win for the Bearcats. McKendree improves to 11-4 on the year. The Bearcats will be off until Dec. 5, when they play host to Bradley University at 8 p.m. in Fairview Heights.
 
Senior center Scott Roberts (Philadelphia, Pa./Bensalem) (Philadelphia, Pa./Bensalem) scored the only goal of the first period off assists from Donze and freshman wing David Coleman (Greenville, Ill./Fort Zumwalt West). Senior wing Zach Crawford (Springfield, Ill./Pleasant Plains) (Springfield, Ill./Pleasant Plains) made it 2-0 midway through the second period before Donze's power-play goal.
 
Northwestern cut the deficit to 3-2 early in the third period before the Bearcats took control. Senior defenseman Jordan Thompson (St. Louis, Mo./Chaminade) (St. Louis, Mo./Chaminade) pushed McKendree out to a two-goal lead before senior wing Nick Dreyer (Waterloo, Ill./Waterloo) (Waterloo, Ill./Waterloo) made it 5-2 with just 3:16 on the clock. Donze's shorthanded goal just over a minute later closed out the victory for McKendree.
 
Junior Mike Stier (Belleville, Ill./Belleville West) (Belleville, Ill./Belleville West) made 26 saves to earn the victory in goal for McKendree.
