(Lebanon, Ill., Nov. 20)—The No. 2 McKendree University wrestling team improved to 3-0 on the season after defeating No. 15 Missouri Baptist University 43-5.

The Bearcats head to Columbia, Mo., Sunday for the Missouri Open. Matches will begin at  9 a.m.

After losing the opening match at 157-pounds and trailing 5-0, McKendree won the next nine matches to get the win. Junior Aaron Winning (Highland, Ill./) (Highland, Ill./Althoff Catholic) defeated Clarence Neely by injury default to give McKendree a 6-5 lead. Senior Harry Joseph (West Palm Beach, Fla./) (West Palm Beach, Fla./Palm Beach Gardens) pinned Clayton Olsson at the 4:45 mark and senior Tom Edwards (Belleville, Ill./) (Shiloh, Ill./Belleville East) won a major decision over Nick Bowman 17-9 to give the Bearcats a 16-5 edge. Sophomore Andrew Sanchez (Shiloh, Ill./) (Shiloh, Ill./O'Fallon) and senior Dan Moore (Rolla, Mo./) (Rolla, Mo./Rolla) won back-to-back decisions 4-1 and 3-1, respectively, to further extend the lead to 22-5.

After a forfeit win by McKendree freshman Tyler Orr (Mattoon, Ill./) (Mattoon, Ill./Mattoon) at 125-pounds, sophomore Wade Lowe (Godfrey, Ill./) pinned Anton Prater at the 2 minute mark and senior Jermaine Waye (Altama, Ga./) (Brunswick, Ga./Glynn Academy) won a technical fall over Matt Salzer 15-0. Sophomore Ryan Jahn (Bolingbrook, Ill./) (Bolingbrook, Ill./Bolingbrook) ended the evening with a 12-2 major decision over Pablo Ramos at 149-pounds.
