FOUR BEARCATS SCORE IN DOUBLE-FIGURES TO LEAD McKENDREE TO WOMENS BASKETBALL WIN OVER CULVER-STOCKTON

(Lebanon, Ill. – Nov. 22) – The McKendree women's basketball team had four player's score in double-figure's Saturday night on their way to an 83-51 win over Culver-Stockton College.

 

McKendree, now 3-4 overall, will travel to Owensboro, Ky., Monday for a game at Brescia University at 7 p.m.

 

Senior forward Emily Best (Wood River, Ill./East Alton-Wood River) (Wood River, Ill./East Alton-Wood River) led all player's with 22 points and nine rebounds. She is now three rebounds away from 500 for her career at McKendree. Sophomore guard Ashley Agee (Moberly, Mo./Moberly) (Moberly, Mo./Moberly) had 11 points and junior guard Haley Klingelhoefer (Mascoutah, Ill./Mascoutah) (Mascoutah, Ill./Mascoutah) and sophomore guard Katie Fullerton (Coulterville, Ill./Coulterville) (Coulterville, Ill./Coulterville) each had 10 points in the win. Klingelhoefer also had six assists and five steals. Jessica Trizuto led Culver-Stockton with 10 points

 

After battling back and forth for the first five minutes of the contest, McKendree took a 16-10 lead on a jumper by freshman Ashley Dressler (Columbia, Mo./Rockbridge) (Columbia, Mo./Rock Bridge) at the 13:14 mark. McKendree took a 16 point lead on a three-pointer by Klingelhoefer with just under five minutes remaining in the first half and the Bearcats took a 23 point lead on a jumper by Best with five seconds in the half to lead 47-24 at half.

 

McKendree didn't let up in the second half, outshooting the Wildcats 40-percent to 33-percent in the second half. McKendree slowly built their lead until they ended the game with a 83-51 win.
