(ST. LOUIS, Mo., April 15)—The McKendree University women's tennis team swept all nine matches Tuesday night over Missouri Baptist University, 9-0.

McKendree won No. 1 and No. 3 doubles handily by scores of 8-2 and 8-0, respectively. The No. 2 doubles team of junior Erin Thoman (O'Fallon, IL/O'Fallon) (O'Fallon, Ill./O'Fallon) and senior Sara Johnson (Effingham, Ill./Effingham)  won a close match over Lindsay Dixon and Brittany Becker, 9-7.

McKendree won No. 3 and No. 4 in single sets, Johnson over Dixon, 8-1, and Thoman over Becker, 8-3. Sophomore Maria Occhipinti (Bahia Blanca, Argentina) won No. 1 singles over Katelyn McCreary, 6-0, 6-1, while junior Jenny Mennerick (O'Fallon, IL/O'Fallon) (O'Fallon, Ill./O'Fallon) won No. 2 singles over Meghan McCreary, 6-3, 6-0. At No. 5 singles, senior Kelly Beiermann (Godfrey, Ill./Marquette Catholic) defeated Katie Hall, 6-1, 6-2, and at No. 6 singles junior Lauren Szakielo (Troy, IL/Triad) (Troy, Ill./Triad) defeated Alexia Cortez, 6-0, 6-0.
