(LEBANON, Ill., April 2)—The McKendree University men's tennis team suffered a 7-2 setback Tuesday on the road against Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville.

The Bearcats had their two-match win streak snapped with Tuesday's loss. McKendree picked up both of its victories against the Cougars in singles competition. Sophomore Daniel Gonzales (Lima, Peru) won at No. 4 singles, outlasting Carlos Sanchez in three sets, 6-2, 3-6 and 10-7. Freshman Gus Occhipinti (Bahia Blanca, Argentina/) (Bahia Blanca, Argentina) also needed three sets for his win at No. 6 singles. Occhipinti defeated Jordan Faulkenberg by scores of 5-7, 7-6 and 10-5.

McKendree, now 2-4 overall, will play host to Missouri Baptist University Wednesday at 3 p.m.
