(LEBANON, Ill., April 30)—The McKendree University men's tennis season came to a close Saturday with a 5-2 loss to Lindenwood University in the semifinal round of the NAIA Region V Tournament. The match was held at the Dwight Davis Tennis Center in Forest Park.

Both of the Bearcats' victories came in doubles competition. Freshman Timon Reichelt (Germany/) (Germany) and sophomore Daniel Gonzales (Lima, Peru) teamed for an 8-6 win at No. 2 doubles. Playing right behind Reichelt and Gonzales in the No. 3 doubles slot, freshman Evganiy Nigmatyanou (Uzbekistan) and fellow freshman Gus Occhipinti (Bahia Blanca, Argentina/) (Bahia Blanca, Argentina) posted an 8-5 victory.

McKendree ended its 2008 spring season with a record of 9-8.
