(LEBANON, Ill., April 8)—The McKendree University men's tennis team dropped a 6-3 decision Monday afternoon on the road at the University of Missouri-St. Louis.
The Bearcats posted wins in a pair of singles matches and took one of the three doubles matches against the Tritons. McKendree slips to 5-5 on the season and will be in Springfield, Ill., on Wednesday to take on the University of Illinois at Springfield.
In singles competition, McKendree was led by sophomore Daniel Gonzales (Lima, Peru) and freshman Timon Reichelt (Germany/) (Germany). Gonzales rallied after losing the first set to take a 6-7, 7-6, 10-4 victory at No. 4 singles. Reichelt rolled to a 6-3, 6-4 win at No. 1 singles.
Playing at No. 2 doubles, Riechelt and Gonzales teamed for an 8-6 win.
